In 2004 the major building work on the inside of the church was complete thanks to the generous support of members and friends of the church, together with grants from the District, other Unitarian Congregations and a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Now in 2013, thanks to our members, friends and the wider Unitarian community in giving both money and time we have raised over £18,000 to repair our roof.
The roof repairs are now complete along with some work on the south wall bringing this phase of improvements to a close. The church committee is grateful to all those who have helped to raise the money needed. You may not be able to see the end result above our heads; however, please be assured that your hard work and donations are greatly appreciated and have made a difference to the fabric of our sacred space and, in turn, its spirit.
Fundraising is an ongoing activity, since our historic building requires regular maintenance and repair. The Fundraising Committee meets regularly to discuss progress on existing projects and to think of further ways to raise money. The portico and heating system are the next major works to be considered.
Currently there is a series of Friday Lunchtime Concerts. An excellent reason to come to Brighton on a Friday!
Recently published is our book titled Unitarians Talking - all proceeds go to our Building Fund.
Please do consider making a donation. Contact us if there is any way you can help with our fund-raising. A recent gift has reminded us of the importance of legacies.
