Portico Repair Project (PRP)
Our church is a special place in many ways.
The iconic columns and steps at the front of our building need serious repairs. These will cost approximately £160,000. We are planning a lively programme of fundraising events, and are applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund and other grant-giving bodies to help us raise this amount.
The Portico Repair Project (PRP) group have put together a detailed programme, focused on the heritage of our building, to support our application for a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). It is a two-round application; the first round was submitted on the 23rd February and we heard in June that we have been successful. HLF is awarding us nearly £15,000 to help fund the specialist investigations needed before the repair and conservation work on the Portico can be carried out.
We are holding a ‘Sing-a-long-a West Side Story’ on Sunday 2 July from 1pm in the Hall.
