Portico Rescue - Fundraising
Building Work on the Portico and Pillars is nearly finished
We are extremely grateful to the amazing community of Brighton and Hove who have supported us during the restoration of this beautiful building. We are now coming to the end of the To Do List with just the painting at the bottom of the columns, where they meet the new flagstones, to be finished. This is a massive achievement bearing in mind all the additional work that has been undertaken and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team of builders we had on site. Thank you everyone.
We would like to say a special thank you to the Brighton and Hove Gay Men's Chorus for donating some of the proceeds from their wonderful Christmas "Pull a Cracker" concert at the Dome on the 8th December.
Our thanks also go to Pinocchio Restaurant, New Road, Brighton, who are a good neighbour and friend to Brighton Unitarian. On Friday 9th November they contributed enormously to our Building Appeal Fund by donating all their takings for that day to the church. We are very moved and thankful to the wonderful family team at Pinocchio which is the oldest Italian Restaurant in Brighton.
Our fundraising efforts must, however, continue. The generosity of our members, friends and the people of Brighton has been tremendous and we cannot thank them enough BUT we have to have one last push to raise the required money to pay all the bills!
If you have not already done so, please take a look at the short film above, which explains all about our Portico Rescue Appeal and see for yourself the extent of the damage and why we are asking for help.
