Services & Activities
Sunday ServicesOur Sunday services last about an hour. They are diverse, conducted by the Lay Leader, visiting Unitarian ministers and members of the congregation. Services cover a range of different topics; readings, music and ideas are drawn from varied sources. They quite often have space to quiet reflection. They have in common the desire to nourish and expand the human soul!
Visitors are most welcome. Although most people stand for hymns some prefer to sit. You are welcome to stay for tea/coffee afterwards. Our request is that you come with an open mind and respect for others. Our Services are listed in our Services Calendar. Equinox & Solstice ServicesThrough the year we have services to mark each Equinox & Solstice. At these services we celebrate the earth and its seasons, and begin by lighting candles for the spirits of the North, East, South and West. Members of the congregation bring and share readings, objects from nature or simply talk about what the turning of the seasons means to them.
Following these Services there is the opportunity to enjoy a Bring and Share Lunch. Just bring some food to share and come along. Who knows what you'll enjoy eating! Evening PrayersFrom Sunday May 26th Quiet Reflections will be replaced by Evening Prayers. Like Quiet Reflections these will take place on the last Sunday of each month at 6.30 pm. They will be more structured than Quiet Reflections but will continue to include a period of stillness, and a time for candle lighting and reflection. There is something lovely about sitting by candlelight in our sacred space. We will open with a short prayer, there will be some readings and the time will end with a longer guided prayer. Everyone is most welcome.
