In January 2020 we opened our monthly Welcome Cafe to provide a simple lunch and some takeaway goodies to homeless and isolated people in our city.  Sadly because of Covid19 it had to close at the end of March after only 3 sessions.  We were part of something much bigger than us as 2 other churches provided lunch on the other Saturdays in the month.  The volunteers (who came from our members and friends) found the cafe an uplifting experience, hard work, but full of love and laughter.  I think our guests were a delight and it was interesting to see how they looked out for each other. All the volunteers were just amazing and it was so disappointing to have to put everything on hold.  

We hope to run something next year and need help in obtaining funding in order to provide a service to the homeless.
